Day two at the Paris Masters began on Court Central at 11am this morning when Jeremy Chardy (FRA), the world number 34, played Guillermo Garcia-Lopez (ESP) in which Chardy defeated the Spaniard 6-0 6-3 in what was an easy first round draw for the French man.
Paul-Henri Mathieu (FRA) and Roberto Bautista-Agut (ESP) followed on Court Central. The French man defeated Bautista 6-4 7-5 in what was a tough first round for Mathieu but he finally emerged victorious.
Third on Court Central saw the defeat of Daniel Gimeno-Traver (ESP) to Michael Llodra (FRA) 7-5 6-2.
Later in the day the Japanese world number 16, Kei Nishikori finally achieved victory over Benoit Paire (FRA) in a tough fort match 7-6 6-2.
Over on Court 1 starting at 11am, Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) defeated the Austrian player Jurgen Melzer 7-6 6-2. Jerzy Janowicz (POL) beat Marin Cilic (CRO) 7-6 6-2. Igor Sijsling (NED) defeated Alexandr Dolgopolov (UKR) 6-4 6-2, not a challenging match for the Dutch man.
Later in the day Sam Querrey of the USA defeated Fernando Verdasco (ESP) 6-1 1-1.
