Djokovic aiming to end year on a high

The World No. 1, Novak Djokovic, is aiming to end 2012 on a high by winning his second ATP World Tour Title.

"This is a very important tournament. I definitely want to do well," admitted the 2008 champion on Sunday at The O2, venue of the season-ending championships in London.

On Monday (5th November) Djokovic will return to No. 1 in the ATP World Rankings after Roger Federer decided to pull out of the Paris Masters last week.

"It means a lot, for all of us from our team, we are very proud of what we've achieved in 2012," said Djokovic, who has a 70-12 season record. "It's definitely not easy ending the year as No. 1 considering the competition that we had this year, and I'm very happy and very proud. This can only serve as a great confidence boost for me for upcoming years."

Today, Djokovic will play the World No.8, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, in his Group A match this Monday evening. In the round robin matches Djokovic will face Andy Murray and Tomas Berdych.
