Watson withdraws from Hobart International

British No. 1 Heather Watson has withdrawn from this weeks Moorilla Hobart International, just over a week before the Australian Open begins.

During her second round defeat to Kiki Bertens at the ASB Classic in Auckland, Watson suffered an elbow problem which has caused the British No.1 to withdrawn from the warm-up event.

Watson tweeted: "I injured my elbow in my singles match, I have to withdraw from Hobart. Doing everything I can to get healthy."

The first grand slam of the year, the Australian Open, begins in Melbourne on 14th January.
