Dan Evans breaks into the world's top 150 for first time

British tennis player Dan Evans has reached the world's top 150 for the first time in his career after reaching the third round of the US Open.

The British No.2 has never previously won a match at a Grand Slam tournament but following success at Flushing Meadows he's now ranked 149 in the ATP World Rankings.

His impressive run at the US Open ended after he was defeated in four sets by Spaniard Tommy Robredo.

Evans played 6 matches in New York after he went through three rounds of qualifying and went on to defeat world number 52 Bernard Tomic and 11th seed Kei Nishikori.

Up next for the Brit is the Davis Cup where he will be hoping Great Britain can qualify for the elite World Group if they win in Croatia.
