In a Djokovic masterclass in Melbourne the Serb demolished his opponent to win 6-3 6-0 6-2- a dominate performance once again from the defending champion.
Djokovic was straight out of the starting blocks, asserting his dominance and piling the pressure on Fognini.
Italian Fabio Fognini appeared erratic, nervous, and overall it seemed that he just wasn't in the zone. Fognini had times appeared injured but then he'd chase down a drop shot- it was hard to predict what he would do from one rally to the next.
Djokovic simply brought his A game to the court, his super clean ball-striking coupled with clever point construction were the highlights of the Serbs game. Djokovic had 22 break-points given him, Fognini had none.
The number two seed has now won 25 games in a row at the Australian Open. Up next is Djokovic's 19th straight Grand Slam quarter-final. He'll face Stanislas Wawrinka on Tuesday.
