Defending champion Novak Djokovic made light work of his opponent to ease into the third round of the Australian Open.
With temperatures once again reaching dizzy heights in Melbourne, it didn't seem to affect Djokovic too much who clinched an easy 6-0 6-4 6-4 win against Leonardo Mayer.
The second seed has now extended his winning streak to 26 matches but there was a scare at 3-3 in the first set after the Serb turned over on his left ankle.
Throughout the match Djokovic was unstoppable on serve, Mayer tried to fight back but we were witnessing a masterclass from the second seed. Despite Mayers average first serve speed being much quicker than Djokovics'- the Serb still won 82% of points from first serves.
Djokovic fell to the ground but didn't call for his trainer, Soon after he took the first set in just 22 minutes. It seemed the defending champion wanted to wrap up the match as quickly as possible.
Djokovic hit thirty winners and just 11 unforced errors compared to Mayers 14 winners and 39 errors as the Serb took the second round match in one hour, 47 minutes.
Djokovic will face either Denis Istomin or 30th seed Dmitry Tursonov in the third round.
