Fifth seed Angelique Kerber made a slow start to her second round match against Lucie Hradecka, but eventually cruised to victory and advances into the third round.
After Kerber eventually found her rhythm and began to play more comfortably she cruised to victory defeating Hradecka 6-3 6-1.
In the first set Kerber saved all five break points against Hradecka and was in a position to close the set when serving 5-2.
However, ranked 51 Hradecka increased the pace of the match in the eighth game to break Kerber's serve 15-40, but saving the service game only delayed Kerber taking the set by a game.
Kerber wrapped up the second set in just 22 minutes, winning 26 of the 36 points played. Kerber sealed the win with a powerful forehand down the line.
In the third round, Kerber will play the winner of the second round match between Tamira Paszek, of Austria, and American wildcard Madison Keys.
