World No. 4 Agnieszka Radwanska is quietly getting the job done at the Australian Open after victory in straight sets over Irena-Camelia Begu.
Radwanska moved into the third round after defeating the Romanian player 6-3 6-4 a the Rod Laver arena.
The fourth seed has had a great start to 2013 after winning all of her matches and has collected two titles in Sydney and Auckland so far this season.
Ranked 55 Begu played aggressively to break Radwanska in the opening game. Radwanska's consistent run of from soon put a stop to a challenge by Begu, with the fourth seed winning the next five games to take control of the set.
Radwanska served to wrap up the first set, but was broken by Begu. But, Radwanska eventually took the set two games later, 6-3, in 46 minutes.
Begu had a medical time out for a shoulder concern at the end of the set but continued play in Melbourne.
Radwanska, a three-time Australian Open quarter-finalist, meant business in the second set, jumping to a 2-0 lead. Begu kept fighting, though, and got the break back to level stay in it at three-all.
Just as she had done all match, Radwanska responded when challenged. She won the next three games to take the set 6-3 in 40 minutes, sealing victory with a volley.
Radwanska will play British No. 1 Heather Watson in the third round on Friday (18th January).
