Watson breaks into the world top 40

British tennis player Heather Watson has for the first time in her career broken into the WTA top 40.
Watson is now ranked number 39, with fellow Briton Laura Robson remaining 43rd in the world.

Watson reached the last eight of the US Indoor Championship and made it through to the last 16 in Pattaya City in January.

In other ranking news, Serena Williams remains world number one after regaining the top spot last week.

The top 10 remains largely unchanged, with the exception of Czech player Petra Kvitova, who moves up eighth to seventh, swapping places with Sara Errani.
