Bet-at-Home Cup: Monaco begins his bid to reclaim the title

Argentine Juan Monaco has begun his attempt to reclaim the title he won in 2007 at the Bet-at-Home title in Austria.

The second seed at the Kitzbuhel tournament defeated Austrian wildcard Andreas Haider-Maurer 6-3 6-4 on Wednesday.

Monaco won this event in 2007 and eight of this ATP World Tour titles have been won on clay. The Argentine is attempting to win his second title of the season after winning the Power Horse Cup in May.


Up next for Monaco is Daniel Gimeno-Traver, who defeated Jan Hajek in 73 minutes. Gimeno-Traver is leading their head-to-head battle 2-1 after defeating Monaco in five sets in the first round of the French Open two months ago.
