Day One at Queen's Club

Britain's Dan Evans won his opening match at Queen's Club, defeating Guido Pella who has ranked more than 200 places above the Brit.

The momentum always appeared to be in Evans' favour, with mistakes and too much pressure for Guido to handle. Evans won the game 6-3 6-1.

Following his win, Dan Evans said: "It was a good match.  I started well last week also. The Brits have had one more extra week on the grass than most other players who were playing. Played the challenger last week. So it was a good way to start and get some matches on the grass."

Ivan Dodig Vs Jamie Ward

Also at Queen's Club on day one Ivan Dodig had to fight back from one set down to knock Britain's Jamie Ward out of the Aegon Championship.

Ward had two opportunities to serve out the match but failed to close the match and the Croatian pounced on his opponent.

Dodig won 4-6 6-1 6-3 to set-up a second round match with Grigor Dimitrov.

Lleyton Hewitt & Grigor Dimitrov

Former Queen's Club champion Lleyton Hewitt will face upcoming star Grigor Dimitrov in their second round match on Day 2.

Both players came from a set down to triumph, Hewitt against American Michael Russell and Dimitrov, who stood two points of defeat at 4-5, 0-30 versus Israeli Dudi Sela.

Dimitrov fought back to win 4-6 6-2 7-6.

"I love this tournament," said Dimitrov afterwards. "I love being here, there's a lot of history, it's a very special court to me and I always feel good on it. One day I hope that I can win this tournament."
