Serbian Ana Ivanovic has beaten Virginie Razzano 7-6 6-0 on No.2 Court at Wimbledon to reach the second round.
It was clear that Ivanovic wanted to get down to business after racing to a 3-0 lead in just 7 minutes in the opening set.
Razzano started to find her game, particularly her penetrating forehand that began several winners and helped her to draw level at 3-3.
Ivanovic's performance appeared to dip, with routine returns failing to find the court. The match then seemed to turn on it's head with the opening point of the tie-break.
Ivanovic slipped on the baseline, but recovered and concluded the forceful duel at the net. Ivanovic celebrated fist pumping the air.
And it seemed to free her up – she landed two big serves to lead 4-1, smacked successive forehand and backhand winners to move ahead 6-1, and took the opening set on the very next point after Razzano erred on the return.
Razzano failed to win another game.
